History
The history of one of the world’s most famous football clubs, Juventus dates back to the 1800s in Turin.
As wealth grew with local merchants and their new found success abroad, so too did it’s love for sports; creating what was called Sport-club Juventus.
The black and white strips now associated primarily with Juventus was first worn by Notts County, an English football club.
At the turn of the 20th century, Juventus needed to replace their worn out pink shirts.
A player from England was asked to be in charge and he soon realized that what was delivered had a similar design and colors as what Notts County was using at that time.

Even though Juventus has spent most of its history in Serie A, there were a few years when they left. These exceptions include the 2006-2007 season.
The Calciopoli scandal had a huge impact on Juventus, who were sent to Serie B following two scudettos in 2005 and 2006.
Despite being reduced from nine points down with them at the time of relegation, Juve bounced back quickly as they always have been and soon regained dominance.
Juventus won every scudetto from season 2011-12 until the end of this decade.

Logo
Despite a few tweaks over the years, Juventus’ logo has largely remained unchanged.
In fact it was only in 2004 that this iconic design received its first major makeover.

Juventus’ old crest is a perfect reflection of the club’s history.
It features black and white stripes, on top of which can be seen their name written just above a golden line—the first football team to do so for an entire kit design.

With many members having served as either board members or presidents for decades at a time.
In November 2023, the entire board of Juventus Football Club stepped down amidst a brewing scandal. The Italian government had launched an investigation into allegations that some members of Juventus’ first team were paid off the books during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
As the investigation unfolded, more information came to light. CONSOB, the Italian securities market regulator, uncovered that several players had supposedly agreed to salary cuts to support the club during that challenging time. However, it was alleged that they were secretly compensated “under the table.”
This led to the resignation of key figures, including club President Andrea Agnelli, Vice-President Pavel Nedved, and CEO Maurizio Arrivabene. The club later announced that a meeting in January 2023 would be held to officially appoint their successors.
According to an official statement from Juventus, Gianluca Ferrero was named the new Chairman, and Maurizio Scanavino took over as the Chief Executive Officer.
Juventus were named by the IFFHS as one in an elite group and the best Italian club of the past century.
